9 month check in

At 9 1/2 months Li’l T is 27 inches and 20 lbs. He crawls and climbs EVERYWHERE. Our cat is NOT amused. He’s stood unassisted several times so walking is just around the corner. At daycare he’s always trying to climb out of his pack-n-play. Or walks around the interior perimeter instead of napping. At home we’ve lowered his crib as far as it will go. He’s fascinated with anything on a shelf. Books, DVDs. Anything he can grab and throw to the floor. We’ve moved him into the 9-12 month clothing range. he has learned to wave whenever someone says “hi” but he primarily waves at himself. He has only waved in someone’s direction ONCE. I’ve been showing him how to clap but he looks at me and grabs my hand as if to tell me to stop. LOL He LOVES to bounce and I dance with him when does. I think he tries to sing. I sing Hole at the Bottom of the Sea, 5 bears in the bed, and other random things and he quiets down and sometimes he makes little noises. His “singing.” He is such a busy body and does NOT like to keep still. Putting him the changing pad so you can change his diaper is pure TORTURE for him.
Food: We recently had to double the solids that we send to daycare (1 cup to 2 cups) because he’s been very cranky and hungry recently. I’m still not sure if that’s enough. His interesting thing though is that he will only eat purees at school and no table food. But he only eats table food at home and won’t touch purees. I don’t know what to do with him. He’s had carrot, peas, green beas, chicken, apple, raspberry, mango, peach/nectarine, pear, brown rice, kale, squash, zucchini, sweet potato, wheat bread, broccoli, avocado, puffs, multi-grain Cheerios. Everything went well EXCEPT for avocado. He screwed up his face and started gagging. *sigh* I’m not a big fan either but it’s really nutritious. I’ve started mixing some of the foods together so he doesn’t get bored. I really wanted to try the chicken, kale, brown rice puree that I made for him.
Noises: He no longer growls and sounds like a demon. Now he just clicks with his tonuge and loves when we do it back.
Books: He likes looking at his books and his night-time go to is Good Night Gorilla. Anything with bright colors is a win. He has a book on Kittens that has textures and I sometimes find him rubbing and trying to bite the book.
