Meal Planning

Posted on: November 20, 2010

In an effort to help out our budget and stop us from eating out so often I’m getting back into meal planning. We were doing well for a while and I even had a Google calendar set up for but as life got hectic we fell off the wagon so to speak. Last Sunday, we picked out several meals for the week and then went shopping for any ingredients that we didn’t already have.

Turkey Meatball Subs
Fresh Fettucine with Roasted Chicken and Broccoli Rabe
Italian Chicken and Peppers
Roasted Salmon and Potatoes with Dill
Shrimp & Sugar-Snap Saute with Garlic Toast
Shrimp Scampi

Some meals didn’t get made and will be moved to next week’s list.

Good luck. We used to plan out certain meals throughout the month and then cross them off the calendar. It’s a good way to keep your food budget low, but sometimes can cramp your style as far as eating different things all the time. We ended up with leftovers tonight, but my hubby was ill and teething baby and I made homemade chicken noodle soup for lunch so I don’t feel bad about re-runs at night then.

Thank you. We did well that week and had lots of leftovers so we didn’t make all of the meals. We’ve gotten off schedule because of Thanksgiving but I hope we’ll be back on track soon.
